Felicia Riebe was born and raised in Henderson. In addition to playing defense for the Henderson Warriors for the past three years she has participated in band in both Junior and Senior High School. She has proudly been a flute and a tenor sax player for the Coronado Cougar Marching Band for all four of her high school years. And it was a fellow band member who invited Felicia out to see what Lacrosse was all about. Felicia has also volunteered for a local cat rescue group in the past. My lacrosse story begins with watching my older brother play for the Henderson Cougars for four years, 2002-2005. Geno was on their first team and ended his experience with the first State Championship Title for the Cougars in 2005! After being a spectator for four years, I knew it was time for me to take to the field. It was hard to adjust from playing catch with my brother and his friends to playing with a girls stick and learning a new set of rules. I needed to succeed so I practiced, until I had it down. I attended summer camps in San Diego, CA. Alexandria, VA, and Portland, OR where I was coached by Gary Gait and his Syracuse players. My summer camp experiences improved my game each year as well as my stick skills and ball control. For two years I was on the X Team, which is a girl’s National Team. The experience I received from the coaches/staff will never be forgotten. I was fortunate enough to travel to California to compete as well as Maryland and Pennsylvania. I met several girls from around the US. The number one thing that we had in common was, “We Loved to Play Lacrosse”. I also played on Team Vegas for one year. I have just completed my last season with the Warrior Team. I’ve just put my stick down to give it a rest. My cleats show wear and tear. My hard work paid off. I did what I came out to do!
